Mystic Reservoir

Located in Southern Iowa

Mystic Reservoir is a modest body of water in the historic town of Mystic, Iowa. It is just five miles from Centerville, a much larger city with restaurants, schools, shops, and hotels.

Centerville also features the Mercy Medical Center. Mystic is approximately an hour and a half from the Des Moines International Airport and 15 minutes from the Centerville Municipal Airport.

Naturally Tranquil

With little to no establishments around Mystic Reservoir, you may have the waters all to yourself. It is known as an excellent fishing hole and place to relax. Its grassy shore makes it easy to put in a kayak or canoe.

Rathbun Lake

Rathbun Lake is a popular recreational environment less than ten miles north of Mystic. The lake is popular for boating, water skiing, wakeboarding, fishing, and more.

It is the largest warm-water fish hatchery in the state, holding healthy populations of largemouth bass, crappie, walleye, and channel catfish.

Island View Park and Honey Creek State Park offer water access, nature trails, restrooms, and parking.
